Brown-Delaware Street |
Page Update
January 5, 2014
Historic pictures from
Brown, Delaware, and Brown-Delaware Streets. The properties in this
area are located within both the West Central and Historic West
Eighth Street Districts.
Note: Delaware
Street and Brown Street are combined from West 6th St. to West 14th
St. and are known as Brown-Delaware Street. Remnants of Brown Street
still remain North of West 6th Street and are included here. In
the 1974 a 3 lane road was carved through the area for "better
downtown traffic flow". The construction of this thoroughfare
caused quite a storm within the city and helped move the downtown
residents to diligently work toward the creation of our two Historic
Districts. More "Expressway"
